Mexican Fire Opal Jewelry by Variance Objects

Mexican Fire Opal Jewelry

Mexican fire opal glows through orange, amber and red. We orient each stone to hold that inner color rather than forcing a standardized outline.

About Mexican Fire Opal

Mexican fire opal is defined by warmth. Some pieces are transparent and flame-like; others are more opaque, layered or crossed by natural variations in color.

We study the rough to find the direction in which the color is most alive, then remove only what is needed to reveal it. Every setting is constructed around the finished opal, allowing the material to determine the proportions and character of the piece.

Sourced with Intention

Ethical Gemstones

We use Kimberly Process certified diamonds and traceable colored gems from trusted, family-run sources.

Recycled Precious Metals

Most of our precious metals are recycled, but not all. Our unique handmade process lends itself to less waste and less toxicity.

Respect for the Rough

All our colored gemstones are cut from rough stones. We highlight the rough beauty of each stone with a focus on color variation, rough formation and natural textures.
