Rutilated Quartz Jewelry

Rutilated quartz forms when needle-like rutile becomes enclosed inside growing quartz. The inclusions may be spare or dense, golden, red-brown or dark, creating an internal composition unique to every stone.

We cut to preserve the relationship between the quartz and those mineral threads, choosing an orientation that lets them remain visible from the body. The metalwork then follows the resulting outline. Learn more in our Rutilated Quartz article.
